Under a draft resolution that the government submitted to the National Assembly on Saturday, visa policies will also be designed with flexibility tailored to specific markets, with priority given to high-spending, long-stay tourists, repeat travelers and those combining leisure trips with business, conferences or seminars.
The draft covers seven key policy groups, including investment incentives, business support, nighttime economy development, human resource, visa policies and tourism infrastructure.
Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Lam Thi Phuong Thanh said the proposed policies aim to remove existing bottlenecks and attract investment, positioning tourism as a key economic sector and a driver of the country's goal of achieving double-digit economic growth.
The National Assembly is expected to vote to adopt the resolution on Nov. 21.
